The SIB manages several bioinformatics core facilities that help scientists around the world conduct their research and analyse their data. For example, the SIB provides informatics and statistical support and advice for genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics research. The organisation also maintains the Vital-IT High Performance Computing Centre, which provides computing resources and consultancy services for the Swiss life sciences community.
