Helping shape the future of life science

ribosomal subunit 350x350 (MedILS/ETHZ)

The SIB is active across the whole spectrum of bioinformatics. It plays a central role in life science research--both in Switzerland and abroad. In collaboration with leading Swiss universities, Swiss institutes of technology and other partners, the SIB develops new methods and algorithms to collect, store and analyse bioinformatics data to support scientists worldwide.

It also holds an impressive track record of its own in bioinformatics research. Academics and businesses use the knowledge SIB members develop in areas like genomics, proteomics and systems biology to create innovative solutions that improve the population’s health.
