SIB Fellowship Programme
Imagine a world without any genetic disease.
A world where cancer is fully understood and cured.
A world where, year after year, crops are getting more and more abundant.
In order to answer these questions and tackle these challenges, new technologies are increasingly being used. Some, such as next-generation DNA sequencing, are generating massive amounts of data. It has been estimated that between 2011 and 2020 these new technologies will produce data at up to one million times the current rate!
To analyse, visualise and interpret such data, there is a fast growing need of specialised well-trained bioinformaticians.
To help create this pool of excellency, and to promote bioinformatics research for life science, SIB has launched its Fellowship programme in 2013.
