In addition to its undergraduate and graduate courses in bioinformatics, Masters and PhD programs, the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics also offers a series of training courses:

SIB Bioinformatics Workshops

The SIB workshops are organized in Lausanne to establish an ongoing dialog between experimentalists and bioinformaticians. The staff of the SIB and the CIG will present themes which reflect real-life problems faced by experimentalists. The workshops are spread over the year in 1-day sessions. More

BCF courses

The Bioinformatics Core Facility provides researchers with educational support and practical training in the use of software and analysis methods. This includes the organization of seminars, workshops, statistical software training courses, and teaching in the regular curriculum at EPFL.  The range of topics covered includes:
  • General statistics in biomedical sciences
  • R statistical software and BioConductor
  • Microarray analysis

EMBnet / 3ème cycle romand courses

The courses are organised in Lausanne, with the cooperation of the "3ème cycle romand en sciences biologiques", and in Basel and Zürich with the cooperation of the SKMB. More


SIB Training courses

The SIB regularly organises introductory training courses in bioinformatics and biological databases in Switzerland and abroad. The following is a short list of future offerings:
