Benefits 

The program offers its members training on selected current and emerging hot topics in bioinformatics, thereby equipping its student with the most up-to-date methods necessary for their doctoral research. It fosters the emergence of a network of PhD students and promotes the exchange of ideas, as well as the mobility of the students between participating institutions.

The members of the SIB PhD Training Network benefit from the following activities:

• International summer schools in bioinformatics on cutting edge topics
• Graduate level courses in bioinformatics, organized in compact blocks on the campus of one of the SIB partner Universities
• Workshops combining presentations from invited speakers and interactive sessions in which the students can both present their work as well as discuss articles and topics with their peers
• Lab rotations in which the PhD students can expand their knowledge by participating in the research activities of multiple SIB groups
• Scientific meetings of the SIB, intended to foster scientific as well as social interactions between SIB members.

We expect the members of the SIB PhD Training Network to participate actively in the program and to attend the yearly SIB PhD Workshops and at least one summer school during their PhD. You can find the current activities here.
