Introduction to wEMBOSS

Friday May 11, 2007

This workshop intends to give you a glimpse at what the EMBOSS package and its wEMBOSS interface can do for you. Apart from providing a more user friendly interface, this interface allows to store all analyses in projects, making it easier to retrieve data from earlier runs. We will use the Swiss EMBnet node installation of the wEMBOSS package for the practicals.
EMBOSS is "The European Molecular Biology Open Software Suite", a free Open Source software analysis package specially developed for the needs of the molecular biology user community.

Note that this course will not describe the algorithms of the different programs. If you are interested to learn more about bioinformatics, please select our course "Introduction to Bioinformatics".
