Job description Dr Zoltán Kutalik (DGM/CHUV) and Dr Brian Stevenson (Vital-IT) are working jointly on comprehensive exome/whole genome sequencing projects in close collaboration with several clinical research groups at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). In the framework of this project large-scale sequencing data have been generated for hundreds of well-characterised patients with rare conditions. The aim of these projects is to identify rare genetic variants responsible for different diseases that are uncommon in the general population. The project relies heavily on the computational and analytical human resources of the Vital-IT/Swiss-Prot group of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics. This recruitment is part of a long-term development process in our institutions serving the growing demand in the field of Clinical Bioinformatics: Next-generation sequencing will gradually be ! implemented into the daily clinical routine. The position is hosted jointly by the Department of Medical Genetics (DMG) of the University of Lausanne and the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Switzerland. Both departments offer a stimulating, dynamic and international environment with state-of-the-art facilities.
